I loved the way this album turned out.
When I created this album I was not thinking about putting the pictures online as it was more then 2 years ago. The haziness that you see in the photos is from the fact that the pages were already placed in the plastic sleeve protectors and the camera I used to take the pictures. Maybe I will be able to get some pictures of my Aunt & Uncle's album with their photos in them at some point.
I used a lot of metallic gold throughout the album to represent the 50 years.
How exciting to be together 50 years; I am so happy for them!
Now down to the basic "How did you do that?"
The numbers were actually silver metal to start off with -so I used a gold ink (Delicata Golden Glitz) from Imagine Crafts to apply over the top. Once dry I used Versa Mark and added embossing powder while the embossing powder was still wet I dipped the front of the numbers into a mixture of the Champagne Crushed Glass Glitter, and Mica flakes from Stampendous . This gave an amazing added touch to the main theme of the album. (I normally use the "Clip Tool" by Stampendous when working with small items & heat.)
Next up using the same method was the die-cut sticker ribbon strips. Again this was not the color I wanted (they were white) so I made it match the rest of the other items I wanted to incorporate. Stampendous Frantage method makes this so easy to do and it created a continues color & feel that flowed throughout the whole album. Repeat the step above I used on the numbers. I did do this in a long strip & cut the pieces that I needed where.
Another fun item that I incorporated was taken old text from a book and spritzing it with Imagine Crafts Fireworks in Summer Sky & Shimmer Mist in Gold. The mist would be put down then dabbed off to make the color weaker. Sometimes I will mix both onto the same surface making it really wet then dabbing off with a paper towel. This will mix the color into the surface & helps to dilute the stronger color. (I also believe that I used the Shimmer Mist in Sparkle over the finished color to get the look & feel with dazzling shimmer.)
I made a small envelope with a Velcro flap. It contained more punched leaves, so that they can add family members to the leaves & glue onto the tree. (I might have used a different method to close the envelope but I was thinking it was Velcro).
The clock was covered in Versa Mark then Chunky Clear Embossing Powder repeated several times until I got the thickness I wanted. ( The clip tool is very handy to use here) I also heat from the bottom this allows you to get a thicker surface. Once good & dry you can crack the top of the clear coat by hitting it with something heavy like a Crop-a-dile or small hammer. I practiced this method before I actually did it on my final piece.
